The Cleveland Browns are expected to open the practice window for veteran running back Nick Chubb, who has been on the POP list due as he recovers from a major knee injury, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Chubb suffered a major knee injury during Week 2 action last season, and now appears to be on track to start heading back to the field. The Browns, if they do make this move, would then have three weeks to reinstate Chubb to their active roster.
Despite the progress, Chubb is not expected to be available for the Browns’ game against the Washington Commanders in Week 5, which means that they will continue to roll with Jerome Ford as their lead back.
