San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who has been listed as questionable leading up to the game due to a calf injury, is reportedly expected to play as the Niners take on the Carolina Panthers, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Samuel did not play last week when the Niners lost to the Los Angeles Rams as he was recovering from a calf injury that he suffered the week before, when San Francisco took on the Minnesota Vikings.
Samuel reportedly said on Saturday that he plans on making his return in Week 4, which would beat his initial injury timeline of 2-3 weeks, but an official decision on his playing status won’t be made until the team’s pregrame workouts on Sunday.
