The Houston Texans appear to be poised to have lead running back Joe Mixon active for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots who has been having a bounce back season and a productive first few games in Houston.
Mixon is coming off back-to-back limited practices Thursday and Friday after suffering what was previously described as a less severe high-ankle sprain, according to KRPC 2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson.
While Mixon seems ready to jump right back into his lead back role, he could still be limited with the Texans sharing carries with Dameon Pierce, who is making his return following a four game absence.
The Texans also have both Dare Ogunbowale and Cam Akers available in their backfield.
