Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler has officially requested a trade from Miami and now it comes down to which team will be able to pry the All-Star from South Florida where he has spent the last several seasons.
Butler, 35, has a preferred list of teams, although he did not provide the Heat with a list, which includes the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, and Houston Rockets, but some of those teams will have a heck of a time trying to land Butler.
Some oddsmakers have the Golden State Warriors as the leading favorite to land Butler leading up to the NBA’s trade deadline in February.
The Heat could also opt not to trade Butler at all, although it wouldn’t make much sense to keep him considering their need to reboot the roster and Butler’s pricey contract option which could prove to be prohibitive.
